Our Children’s Champion, Michelle Batchelor also manages our involvement in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. The DofE is the world’s leading youth achievement award, giving millions of 14 – 24 year olds the opportunity to develop work-ready skills, and increase employment opportunities by gaining skills to add to their CV.As a licensed organisation delivering the DofE, the Next Step Fostering Group is proud to have already sponsored a number of our looked after children through the scheme to achieve their Bronze Award. The skills that young people can gain through this participation helps to build confidence, resilience and communication skills – all of which could make that vital difference in their future.
